More than 60% of Meals at Home’s clients receive their deliveries at a reduced rate. This means many of the friends we serve are trying to secure the most basic needs with very little income (less than $28,000/year…most below $15,000).

We are determined to help. Our sliding scale dips very deeply – but our expenses remain. Please consider sponsoring a member of your Evanston/New Trier community who is struggling.

Past Angel Donors have done some pretty great things…one client’s account was brought up-to-date after she found herself falling behind AND suddenly needing to replace her furnace in the middle of winter! Can you imagine how much THAT gift meant? Tears of despair became tears of joy!

Life is hard. Helping can be easy.

If you’d like to help please click the Donate button at the bottom of this page or other pages on this website and note “Angel Donor” with your gift. You will be so appreciated.

Meet Anne…

Anne and daughterAnne grew up in Chicago, worked as a secretary, wrote a column “Around Chicago,” participates in the North Shore Village activities, and attends events at the Levy Center. She follows what’s happening in Evanston, the budget crisis in Springfield, events in Washington and  activities internationally. An enthusiastic reader, Anne read Mary Stewart’s “Magical Merlin Trilogy” and David McCullough’s”1776″ and particularly enjoys reading John Grisham’s and Ken Follett’s books.

While Anne is very active, when Anne’s mobility decreased she found it increasingly difficult to shop and prepare meals. Someone suggested she contact Meals at Home, and she now receives food 3 days a week. She particularly enjoys the tuna and chicken salads from Jilly’s Café, the roast beef sandwich, and the “most delicious
chocolate chip cookies” from Curt’s Café. “Meals at Home helped me to be as independent as I am,” says Anne.

Please consider a gift to help Anne and others – ensuring their meals are not missed and are nutritionally balanced. Either click the donate button or mail a check to our office 1123 Emerson, Suite 213, Evanston IL 60201.
